Today is my 14th Wedding Anniversary! I am very lucky to be married to someone I consider my best friend. I know that sounds very cliché, but it is very true. He makes me laugh daily and I am so very proud of his accomplishments he has made during these years!

Happy Anniversary!

I just want to share the finished project here! He was fun to make and I hope to get the pattern written up soon! This is one of my first hats I’ve made without going by a pattern at all. I didn’t want the top of the hat to be so round since the inspiration for this has a more “boxy” head. lol

Halloween!!!! I love Halloween! This is a hat I have been working on. This is a work in progress so excuse the excess yarn. I’m still undecided on a few aspects of it but I am really tickled with how it is coming along!

I think we are going to have to issue another crayon ban around here. We had one of these last year because our delightful daughter decided to get creative, on my walls. I even gushed about the greatness of the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Well, she got better about that until this last month….

All I can say is that I should just get stock in the company…or they should at least pay my daughter. lol Once again she has decided she wants to be an artist apparently….

This, by the way, is me according to my daughter. While I appreciate the use of my favorite colors, I would have much preferred a nice drawing on paper that I could have hung on my refrigerator This, among many other reasons, is why you do not turn your back on a 3 year old.

So once again I am forever grateful for those little “magic” erasers. And boy are they handy dandy things. Here are a few more things they are useful for:

Clean doll faces—This is something that would have been great for my mother when I was younger. I just loved to right one my dolls faces for some reason. Hmmm, maybe my daughter gets her artistic tendencies from me after all!

Remove nail polish from walls, carpets, wooden objects, and plastic— Have I mentioned how much my daughter just LOVES nail polish?

Remove food stains from inside plastic containers— This one interests me. Will be trying this out.

Remove paint overspray that has dried— Kinda geeking out over this one since I have had plenty of overspray problems in my projects. Will also be utilizing this use.

Remove toilet bowl rings— You just cut a piece off and put it in your toilet over night!

Remove melted plastic off of the side of a toaster oven— Obviously I am not the only one who manages to melt the bread bag to the toaster oven…(tip **take bread off of the top of the toaster oven before turning it on)

Those are just a few of the things you can clean with Magic Erasers, the list is pretty long as to what you can do with them!

As most who know me (or read my blog) know, I love yarn and I love to crochet. Handspun yarns are my absolute favorite to work with and I have found an exceptional artist when it comes to handspun yarn.  Spinning Wheel Studio  So I want to share a few pictures of her great yarn!!! First, here a few that I grabbed for myself and I definitely will be getting more of these colors in the future!

Gorgeous worsted weight

I love this one so much!

I have another that will be making it’s way to me that I can’t wait to get! Check out all of her goodies on Etsy!! Seriously, you will want everything!! Spinning Wheel Studio on Etsy You can find plied yarns, thick and thin, art yarns, and even great wools for spinning! (Something I would love to try!) And they are all at really great prices! I would have to say, this is my FAVORITE shop to get my yarns from!

This is such an awesome art yarn!

And then of course the wool for spinning!!

Be sure to stop by her Facebook fan page here–> Spinning Wheel Studio for all her updates and to see more pictures of her great stuff! Seriously, check out her studio! I don’t even spin yarn, and I am jealous of it!!

I’ve actually decided that since I have such an extensive yarn stash, that I am going to make something new every Monday. This is also a good thing since I also have so many patterns for hats and etc. that I have purchased that I still have not even had a chance to make! So today I chose something and whipped it up! I actually hope to incorporate one new item more than just Mondays, but I vow to definitely make time on Mondays! I want to feature this hat today because I just love it!

I have been very fortunate to have some great photographs of my hats and other items in use taken by some really great photographers! Kapture By Kayla  is such a talented photographer from Illinois! I’m so very thankful for the great images she lets me use to show everyone my crochet work in action! Be sure to stop by her website as well as her Facebook page Kapture By Kayla to see the rest of her great work!

Here are a few of the great images she’s shared with me:

Those are just a sampling of the great work she does!

Beach {House} Rules~

Heading down for our family vacation for the rest of the week!!

Today, or tonight actually, we are trying a new recipe in the house. Taco Soup! I have never made this before, but my husband got to try it at work one day when the firm he works for had a Potluck lunch. One big plus…you cook it in the slow cooker! With the exception of the hamburger meat of course. This took me less than 20 minutes to throw together and since I have a lot to do today, it’s perfect! Pictures first, then I will post the recipe!

You will notice that we are missing an ingredient in this picture according to the recipe, but we prefer to omit it

Gotta like the crock pot! No need for a huge mess!

Yum! Looks Delicious!

TACO SOUP
1 can pinto beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can Rotel tomatoes
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can whole kernel corn
1 pkg. ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 lb. ground turkey or beef
Toppings: Chips, sour cream, cheese, black olives
Brown meat. Mix all in crock pot . Cook 6-8 hours on low. Serve with corn chips, sour cream, cheese and
black olives.

A few months ago I relocated my yarn to a different room in the house, but I didn’t really take the time to organize it. So today I decided that was a task I was going to tackle! I’m pretty proud of my little yarn collection. I have a wide variety of yarns with my favorite being my handspun yarns. I have several great vendors that I purchase these gorgeous yarns from, Tale of Time Designs and Spinning Wheel Studio are two of my favorite! Spinning Wheel Studio is to blame for me breaking my yarn buying ban in which I was going to be good until after my family vacation, but take a look at the yarn on their Facebook page…SO WORTH IT! I just have a tiny problem with hoarding it though and not wanting to share it. So here is my stash:

This one shows my hefty bags that I put my handspun yarns in when I travel. I’m sad because I just noticed that I am missing a pink handspun yarn. It is either in the truck of the car or I left it at a family members home.

I love this yarn stash!!
